"My Mommer Tips" for Loving a Child... Part Two

Think about the "cost" of not praying or reading God's Word with your children daily.

Really calculate the "Cost."
Then calculate the short amount of time it would cost you
to add this essential instruction to your day with them.

If you're always racing to practices and appointments,
pray out loud together in your vehicle.
Play worship music & sing with them.

Pray for your children, and pray over them.

We can whisper a prayer that they will never hear,
but when we embrace them before heading out the door,
quickly praying God's Peace
and Protection
aloud over their little heads,
 they'll always know
 their Mother believed
in God's power,

and in the power of Prayer!

"Tips" on loving a Child (Part One)

Sometimes my days are so busy and rushed.
I fail to remember how thrilled I was when the LORD fulfilled a wish and
fervent prayer of mine, one I had petitioned for many, many years.
I promised myself when I brought our little blue bundle
home from the hospital that he would never be
"the interruption" in my life,
but that raising him in the LORD would be my priority.

Here are some of my tips for keeping my promise to myself at the forefront of my mind:

Touch your children as often as possible.
This is especially important when you also must be busy working at home
in some way--perhaps on the computer or on the phone.

A little stroking of the hair or a snuggle on your lap as you type
helps them feel like you're engaged with them while you work.

Teach them how to do something unusual, like sewing.
Make it a big deal, talk about it for a week
before you actually do it.
Be extra gentle and kind while you are instructing.

Always smile at your children when they approach you.
Have a special word or nickname for him/her that only you use,
and whisper the nickname in the child's ear when you hug him/her.

Right Now our son's favorite nickname is
"Kimba".  It will change from time to time, but for now he lights up and smiles
when I call him my "Kimba".

Come for a Dress Up Tea Party

My Creative, Talented sister, Natalie and I decided it was time to treat our darling friends who happen to be young ladies to a Real Tea Party.  It began with a session in her upstairs bedroom, included a Fashion Show, and ended with all kinds of delectable yummies.

Each participant chose a hat to round out the outfit

Pick a necklace and some jewelry

Special touches included new pillows and a pink quilt to make the event even more special.
I LOVE this lovely Quilt, made by an Amish lady in Lancaster, PA

The Chocolate Fountain was so unique, and the most popular food selection.
This was a Buffet of Fruit, Marshmallows, and Cookies to dip into the
Chocolate.

And here is some more of The Food:

Fruity Punch

Of Course, we HAD to serve Cucumber Sandwiches!
Rice Crispie Treats are a
little girl's favorite

Dreamy Party Food

The Fashion Show-

After Dressing up, each girl was announced and descended down the steps into the parent-filled Living Room.  We cheered them on, and they felt treasured.   It was the highlight of my day to see the smiles and pride on each young lady's face.

Little ones added colors and sugar to plain
sugar cookies.

The day was exciting and the girls enjoyed the experience to the brink.
